Taylor is an artist based in Manchester, CT whose work is inspired by the intricate system of muscles that lie beneath our skin.
The shape, color and texture of muscles has an intriguing sense of mystery and abstractness that has interested her since the beginning of her artistic career. Research has provided us with concrete ideas, visuals, and diagrams that present an image of what our muscles look like. These “images” are the closest we get to actually “seeing” without seeing under our skin.
Taylor’s body of work has created a language of muscles, deeply rooted at the center of her practice. Her work plays with muscle imagery and pushes boundaries by investigating form, shape and color, while provoking viewers to wonder and question.
As muscles live in the 2D and 3D worlds, Taylor’s work aims to do the same, ranging from drawings and paintings to sculpture and installation.
