Taylor Toro is the artist behind Houses By Taylor, based in Manchester, CT. After graduating from Massachusetts College of Art with a BFA in Art education, Taylor moved back to CT to start her teaching career. While sharing her love for art with her students, she went on to gain a Masters degree in Special Education from University of Saint Joseph. She currently teaches art to students in grades k-5 while building her artwork portfolio part time.
Taylor’s love for art and houses stems from her parents, growing up surrounded by their love of art, design and antiques.
She loves being able to capture the personality and character of homes in custom, hand painted, watercolor portraits. Each piece starts with a pencil sketch, which is then transferred to the final paper using Micron pens, then followed by watercolor paints. Pieces can be done in black and white or color.
